HOME+PLUS Program Management

The HOME+PLUS program is administered by the Arizona Industrial Development Authority (AzIDA), a nonprofit corporation and political subdivision of the State of Arizona, formed by the Arizona Finance Authority.
Dirk Swift is the Executive Director of the Arizona Industrial Development Authority (AzIDA). The AzIDA’s strategic objectives, as embodied by statute and adopted by the AzIDA Board of Directors are to (1) lower financing costs for commercial enterprises by improving access to the capital markets, thereby providing increased liquidity, efficiency, and economies of scale, and (2) to make single family housing more affordable for low and moderate-income families by developing, implementing and promoting the best single-family mortgage loan program with down payment assistance in the country. In addition to his current role, since June 2014 Dirk has been the Program Administrator for the HOME+PLUS home buyer down payment assistance program. Under his leadership, the HOME+PLUS program has expanded from assisting fewer than 360 new homebuyers annually to now providing down payment and closing cost assistance to over 6,000 new homebuyers per year!
Before entering State service, Dirk spent over 25 years in the private-sector as a mortgage banking professional. He has supervising mortgage lending professionals in both centralized and decentralized settings, serving retail, wholesale and portfolio-acquisition business channels. This direct and impactful experience in all facets and functions related to residential mortgage lending transfers well to his current role. With extensive knowledge and experience in mortgage banking, he brings a pragmatic approach to the challenges of his position.
He received his M.B.A. from Keller Graduate School of Management and his Bachelor’s Degree from Western Illinois University. Dirk has been a resident of Arizona since 1985.
